Zombie Apocalypse for Girls

The Walking Dead, Resident Evil, man eating another man's face in Miami. We've all been a witness to the zombie craze that has been going around. I'm not a huge believer in some Zombie Apocalypse, at least not in my lifetime. BUT if there was a zombie Apocalypse, I feel the men out there would survive much longer than us women. So I came up with some tips that may be able to get YOU through the end of the world.

1. Malls: the ideal location for a zombie apocalypse is probably some penthouse with the bottom two floors blown out so the zombies can't get to you. If you can't find a posh high apartment, get to a mall. It may not be ideal, but you as a women know the fastest route there. You know the mall like the back of your hand. It won't take you long to find a bat or a chainsaw because you know where the sport and tool stores are.

2. Use Your Heels: have you ever appreciated how pointed your heels are? It won't be hard to get one of those through a decaying skull. So take them off and start swinging (remember, always for the brain.)

3. If You've Got It, Flaunt It: I'm all for men liking us for our personalities and not just our bodies. However, if it's the zombie apocalypse and you weigh 110 pounds soaking wet, use what you have to gain a beefy ally. Who knows, maybe some romantic love story will come from it.

Survive another day my friends,

Happy Father's Day

I'm sure most of you are up making breakfast for your fathers or husbands. I have to head to Jordon's parents house soon for breakfast there ( I think we're going to try some peach and blueberry pancakes)

What about my dad you may ask? Well my dad past away when I was 15, so that's over 5 years now. I still miss him everyday. What I wanted to share with you guys today is a little thing I wrote the day he passed:

My Father,
He was incredible.
There wasn't one person that he
wouldn't try to please.
You know how people say to
live life to the fullest
Because you never know what will happen?
Well that's what my dad did.
He laughed, he cried, he lived life.
From moving out here,
making a living on his own,
to finding his beautiful one true love,
to create a family to call his own.
I'll never forget how he'd comment about
everything while watching a movie.
Or how he fell trying to teach me to ride a bike.
How he'd make everyone laugh, or cry, with his whisker rubs.
How he'd make fun of my obsession with Johnny Depp
by calling him Johnny Deep,
How he'd appreciate the fact I shared my lame stories with him.
He was suppose to scare off boys.
He was suppose to be able to walk me down the aisle.
He was suppose to get to see his grandchildren.
I'm sorry I left that party early.
I'm sorry I didn't dance with you.
I'm sorry I didn't hug you before I left.
If I knew it would be the last time I talked to you,
I would have held nothing back.
If I knew it would be the last time I hugged you,
I would've called you back for more.
If I knew it would be the last time I saw you...
I would've never left.
But if I could go back, I would do that and so much more.
I love you dad, Forever.

So Enjoy Today, And Hold Your Father Close.

50 Shades of Twilight.

This is coming from my phone so I apologize for the lack of prettiness. I'm sure most of you have heard of the popular book series 50 Shades of Grey. Like every woman out there, I too had interest in the dominat/submissive twist the trilogy offered. The books became harder to read the more Anastasia and Christian fell in love (for me personally.) Here's some complaints I had:

 **Spoiler Alert!

 1. First off, I think most people are unaware of where the book and story came from. It was originally on a fan site for Twilight with the characters beings Edward and Bella. There was concern with the sexual material so James (author of 50 Shades) put it on her own website. I hate that it was based off these two characters. It made the love story and the obsession in the book almost exactly like the Twilight series.

2. The Back Stories: I think James had some really good back story ideas. I love that Elena plays a part and I really enjoyed the drama and suspense Lelia brought. But I feel like I want more. I want to know why Lelia has gone off the deep end (mind you I've only gotten through the second book, so this point may be invalid.)

3. Been There, Done That: now I like the Dom/sub think James has going on in these books. What I'm really tired of is the average girl who is down on herself getting the Greek God of a man who thinks she makes the world turn. How many times have we seen this? It's not so much that the average girl gets the handsome, rich, sex crazed CEO but how unrealistic it is that he would put up with all her bullshit. I just wish James would have stuck with the Dom/sub plot a little bit more.

So there you have it, my two sense on 50 Shades Trilogy. If you want to read these books, I found the 2nd and 3rd books at Costco for 9.99 each. The first one may be a little bit harder to find in stores but chances are one of your female family members or friends probably has it.

Have a 50 Shade day,

A New Beginning

Hey there! I've been reading a lot of blogs lately and thought maybe I would give it a try. I'm hoping I can share my daily life adventures with you folks and maybe pass on some tips and advice on life. Now I'm no psychologist or sociologist that can give you stats and numbers and graphs. What I can do is tell you my story, or a new recipe I've tried, or maybe some movie and book reviews. Basically I'm a normal 21 year old student who wants to tap into some creative output.

PS. This is my wonderful Boyfriend, more on him later..

I feel like I'm back in highschool filling out a questionnaire on myself.
Maybe the best first post is to just give you a better insight on me.
First off, my name's Vanessa. If you missed it in the first paragraph, I'm a 21 year old student studying Education. I love love love reading and being outside (this is starting to sound like an online dating profile..whoops) pina colada's and getting caught in the rain haha. I like TV, and movies, and video games. I work out and eat pizza. I go out dancing and cuddle at home. Again, just your regular young adult.

Hopefully as I come across more things to blog, you'll get a better feel for me. But for now, I think that's a fairly good intro.
